Mrs. Cunningham

Hello students and families,

My name is Cyndie Cunningham and I am SO excited to be your teacher this year! Since we will be spending LOTS of time together I thought you might want to learn a little about me. I've been teaching for over 20 years in elementary and middle school. I absolutely LOVE teaching and helping students reach their personal best. Eons ago, I was born in San Diego and am proud to call myself a native of this beautiful place. I earned my degree in Liberal Studies at San Diego State University, where I was also a cheerleader- GOOoooo AZTECS! I obtained my Masters of Education and my California CLAD Teaching Credential from National University and continue to further my education regularly with extension courses through UCSD. I am very proud to be a highly qualified educator!

In my free time I love to be with my family, Mr. Cunningham, our beautiful daughter, Starlyn and our sweet Border Collie, Nessie. Nessie has LOTS of energy, so we take her on lots of walks. I also love surfing, yoga, hiking, fishing and spending time with friends.

I try to make learning fun and will go to great lengths to ensure my students love school. My classroom is a safe, inclusive, bully-free environment. My students gain knowledge, self-confidence, and life skills to prepare them for the Big Wide World. After a year with me I hope you love the three "I" words as much as I do: initiative, integrity, and intelligence.

And finally, the term"Bizzle Sizzle" comes from a nickname my students gave me when I taught with my maiden name, Ms. Bishop. You will see this name written on all sorts of items in my room.
